The Annual JIE Engineer’s Week is the established event for Engineers throughout the Caribbean where leaders in Utilities, Consultancies, Telecoms, Government, and Property Development gather, discuss and find solutions. This year will be centered on our energy and infrastructure problems. It gives us great pleasure to invite you to The Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE) annual Engineer’s Week from September 18th to 25th under the theme “Caribbean Engineering……Building Regional Development”. The week of activities will commence with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, September 18th and the official Opening Ceremony and Cocktails will be held on the evening of Monday September 19th at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. During this week the JIE will be hosting three major conferences that will concentrate strongly on Caribbean Infrastructure, Energy Sustainability as well as FIDIC Contract Law. The - Energy Conference under the theme “Developing a Sustainable Energy Future” will be held on Monday, September 19th and Tuesday, September 20th at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
- Caribbean Infrastructure Conference held under the theme “Developing Sustainable Infrastructure” takes place on Wednesday September 21st and Thursday September 22nd 2011 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
- FIDIC Seminar which will be held under the theme “Local Development in a Global Perspective” will be hosted by the JIE on Friday, September 23rd at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
This year will see the second staging of our annual “Engineers in Arts - Explore the Other Side” showcase on Tuesday, September 20th at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. The annual Race for Hope Charity event will also be hosted on Sunday, September 25th at Hope Botanical Gardens. |
